Man shot in leg outside popular hangout

HOUSTON Police say two officers were at a second job when a shootout happened in the parking lot behind Sam's Boat in southwest Houston. One of them went to check it out, and found a man shooting at a group of other men.

It's believed the shooter was shot in the leg by one of the men. Moments later, the men being shot at got into a vehicle and drove off. The officer ordered the suspect to drop his gun, but he turned around, and pointed his gun at the officer. That's when the officer fired several times, but did not hit the suspect.

The suspect then ran to a nearby club, and turned toward the officer again, who fired. The suspect was not hit, and finally surrendered.
