Charges dropped against man involved in deputy crash

HOUSTON Prosecutors determined there wasn't enough evidence to charge Jose Vieyra of criminally negligent homicide for the accident that killed Deputy Craig Miller back in February.

Investigators say Deputy Miller's blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit when he slammed into Vieyra's box truck. But they first blamed the accident on Vieyra for cutting Miller off.

Vieyra spent two months in jail before posting bond.
