Fallen tree blocks traffic on K Street in DC

WASHINGTON D.C. fire department spokesman Alan Etter says a delivery truck hit the 30-foot tree, which landed on top of two vehicles when it fell Thursday afternoon.

Etter says two people were evaluated at the scene, but were not injured. It's unclear if they were inside the vehicles that were hit.

Traffic is closed in both directions between 20th and 21st streets Northwest.

Etter says public works officials are at the scene with a chain saw and plan to cut and remove the tree.

Many lobbying firms have their offices on K Street.
