Two Houston families are settling in to their new homes thanks to Habitat for Humanity. The group held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday in the Settegast neighborhood of northeast Houston. Mayor Bill White, Congressman Al Green, and music entrepreneur Mathew Knowles were on hand for the dedication. Knowles' foundation helped sponsor the homes.

Habitat's goal is to provide affordable housing for low-income families. The new homeowners will make $500 monthly payments on a $50,000 mortgage.
