Two people died after trying to assist another driver in east Houston. Around 7:30pm Friday, four cars stopped to help out a pickup truck that was broken down. A little later, a vehicle swerved by and hit three of the stopped cars. Two people, who were behind the stalled pickup truck, were pinned during the collision. Both died on impact.

Three adults and one child were transported. The driver of the vehicle, who was responsible for the accident, was taken into custody.

His passenger ran away.
