Boy hurt in head on crash

ALVIN, TX Troopers say the father was driving on FM 517, and eyewitnesses reported the boy was in his lap. Investigators say the father passed a cement truck and then hit another car head-on, and they say they're getting conflicting stories.

"We don't know for sure if he was injected into the dads lap or his dad having him in the lap," said Trooper Antoine Parker with the Texas Department of Public Safety. "According to the witnesses that went up there, the baby was already in the guy's lap."

Regardless, troopers say the father will get a ticket for not having the child in a car seat and failure to pass on the left safely. No word on the condition of the little boy.
