Most wanted fugitive nabbed at party

SUGAR LAND, TX An anonymous tip called in to Crime Stoppers helped authorities track down Mario Darnell Demerson, 36, who is one of the Most Wanted Top Ten Fugitives in Texas. Demerson, known to have violent tendencies, was wanted on a state parole violation for injury to a child less than 15 years of age and causing serious bodily injury, in addition to a warrant for assault family violence causing serious bodily injuries with Gregg County.

The tip called said Demerson was going to be at a family member's home located in the 11700 block of Oak Lake Park Drive attending a 4th of July celebration.

Officers set up surveillance on the home from about 5pm until nearly 11pm, when Demerson was spotted leaving the house. He was taken into custody after a traffic stop.
