Police receive drug-tainted treats

Lake Worth police detained a delivery person after treats dropped off at the department tested positive for illegal drugs.Chief Brett McGuire told KXAS-TV that preliminary testing on the cookies was positive for the presence of LSD.

McGuire says officers became suspicious after noticing the cookies smelled like marijuana.

Officers detained an 18-year-old man after getting a tip that some sweets being delivered might be tainted.

Fort Worth police late Tuesday issued a statement saying a basket of food items delivered to its department possibly had been laced with LSD.

Three Fort Worth officers who ate the treats were being contacted, for medical reasons, about possible exposure Monday night.
