SUGAR LAND, Texas - The sky will sparkle as the City of Sugar Land hosts the largest fireworks show in Fort Bend County during the 23rd annual Red, White and Bluefest on Friday, July 4, from 5-10 p.m., at Oyster Creek Park, 4033 State Highway 6 South.
Come out and join the fun with live entertainment as one of Houston's hottest party bands, "Password," rocks the stage with their energy-infused sounds. The lively and always entertaining group, El Vibes, will also be on stage doing an Elvis impersonation set, as well as the Motown Girls.
This year, there will be an additional children's stage with live entertainment including a snake show, magic show, cultural dances and performances and much more. Join the fun with bounce houses, walk-around patriotic clowns, stilt-walkers and a variety of food from local vendors.
The grand finale of the event, the twenty-minute fireworks display, will begin at 9:30 p.m.
Avoid the traffic jam by utilizing a shuttle service from Mercer Stadium, 16403 Lexington Blvd., to Oyster Creek Park from 4:30-11 p.m. If conditions permit, parking will also be available on the easement at Oyster Creek Park, 4033 State Highway 6 South.

Mayor Greg Collins and the Kemah City Council invite you to Breeze into Kemah for family fun and join us July 4th for the Annual Kemah Parade.
The Children's Bicycle Parade starts at 9:45 a.m. at the Schoolhouse Museum Parking Lot on Bradford Avenue at 6th Street. Children of all ages are welcome to decorate their bikes, wagons, strollers, (children are not permitted on motorized vehicles) and parade down Bradford to 6th Street to Kipp, Kipp to 8th, 8th to Bradford and back to the Schoolhouse Museum Parking Lot on Bradford. Goodie bags will be given out to participants of the Children's Parade while supplies last.
The Main Parade with antique cars, fire engines and floats will start at 10:00 a.m. Individuals, groups and businesses are encouraged to decorate a float. No registration is required.
Just want to watch? Bring a chair and pick a spot on Bradford, 4th Street, along Kipp or 9th Street and you are sure to have a front row seat.

Come Fourth and join us in the fun at Galveston's 4th of July Parade and Celebration!
The parade begins at 10am at the Galveston Railroad Museum on 25th Street, heading south and winding its way through historic downtown Galveston, from Postoffice Street to 21st Street, north on 21st Street to Strand, then west on Strand to 25th Street. Join us along the parade route to celebrate with local civic organizations and families, and salute those who have ensured our nation's freedom! The parade will take place (light) rain or shine, but in the event of threatening weather, we will proceed indoors for the festivities.
The parade is immediately followed by a celebration of our nation's birth in the air-conditioned comfort of Galveston Railroad Museum, 123 25th Street. The celebration will include musical entertainment by Sparky Koerner and a patriotic program hosted by Joe Huff of Galveston College. Hot dogs and lemonade refreshments will be provided by our organizers and Sweet Leaf Tea will be on hand to provide their delicious brews. In addition to free admission to all the Museum's exhibits, the Railroad Museum will also provide train rides (cost: $5.00) on their SP Diesel Switcher Locomotive!
It's not too late to participate. Decorate your bicycle, tricycle, golf cart, skates, horses, wagons, carriages, floats, or any other favorite mode of transportation and join us in the parade! Strike up the band and march with us! We welcome all organizations, businesses, civic, church and musical groups, individuals and families. Participation in the parade is free and fun for the entire family.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - This year's Fourth of July parade will begin at 9 a.m. in The Woodlands Town Center on Friday, July 4. Thousands of spectators are expected along the 1.3 mile parade route, which will begin and end at The Woodlands United Methodist Church after winding through Market Street. Roads will be closed during the parade.
Before the parade begins, jugglers, Uncle Sam, clowns, Spiderman, Scooby Doo, magicians, Dora the Explorer, Boots the Monkey and other characters will be mingling with the crowd. This year's parade will feature fire engines, clowns, floats, horses and more. A tent will be set up in front of the Cynthia Woodlands Mitchell Pavilion for senior citizens and the physically challenged to gain refuge from the summer heat.
For the third straight year, the South County 4th of July Committee is hosting it's Annual Marching Band Scholarship Program. Each band that performs will receive atleast $1,000 for their program. Judging will occur on the parade route just above the North Passage in Market Street. Announcering the parade will be Nick Wolda and Ramon Torres, who will provide a brief description of each entry as it passes the judging stand. Awards will be presented at 6 p.m. on the main stage at the Red, Hot & Blue Festival.

will begin with an explosion of Patriotic excitement! A full size
carnival will be onsite Friday - Sunday. Stadium and Field seating

military fly-over and salute will will begin the evening's
entertainment, followed by the winner of the "Let Freedom Sing"
talent search singing the National Anthem. The stadium will be
filled with the tunes of Mango Punch, one of Houston's top-drawing
tropical dance bands. They have performed in prominent concerts
and events such as the pre-game show of the world renowned
Super Bowl XXXVIII, along with Willie Nelson, Toby Keith,
Aerosmith and Beyonce'. At sundown enjoy a spectacular 20 minute
fireworks display from your seat inside the stadium. Food vendors,
face painters, and GLOW trinkets will be available for purchase. The
concerts, parking and seating are free of charge. Tickets can be

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas - 2008 Friendswood Fourth of July Celebration - A Lone Star Salute to America
The Fourth of July Steering Committee and the City of Friendswood invite all to participate in the 113th annual Friendswood Fourth of July Celebration on Friday, July 4, 2008. The daylong celebration is packed full of entertainment, food and fun for the entire family. The theme for this year's celebration is "A Lone Star Salute to America".
The daylong celebration will kick off with the Grand Parade that will travel down Friendswood Drive. The parade will begin at 10 a.m., at the corner of FM 518 and Heritage Drive, and will feature over 100 entries from Friendswood and around the State of Texas. The parade will conclude at Stevenson Park where rides, games, food, live entertainment and fun for the entire family will take place. Several bands will be the featured entertainment along with a variety of patriotic performances throughout the day. The activities will begin shortly after the conclusion of the parade. Over 50 booth entries will provide the backdrop for the daytime activities. The daytime activities are scheduled to conclude at approximately 3:30 p.m.
The Evening Program, which begins at 7:30 p.m., will be held at Centennial Park. Musical group Asleep at the Wheel will headline the evening entertainment, and local performers will round out the evening. A fireworks extravaganza will light up the sky beginning at approximately 9:20 p.m. The fireworks will be choreographed to patriotic music and is guaranteed to be one of the best fireworks displays in the Houston area.
Public parking will not be available at Centennial Park for the Evening Program. Spectators must ride the free shuttle service to gain admittance into the park. Shuttle Service will be available from Clear Brook High School and from Friendswood High School. Shuttle services will begin running at 6:30 p.m.

BAYTOWN, Texas - The City of Baytown Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring two days of Independence Day festivities on July 3rd and July 4th at Bicentennial Park, located at 1001 Market. The celebration will begin on Thursday, July 3rd at 6:00 p.m. with a performance by The Coastliners, followed by headliner John Conlee taking the stage at 8:00 p.m.
The fun continues on Friday, July 4th beginning at 3:00 p.m. with contests and games the family will enjoy, followed by our opening musical act J. Paul Jr. & the Zydeco Nubreeds at 4:00 p.m. The annual July 4th Parade down Market Street and Lee Drive kicks off at 5:30 p.m.. Opening ceremonies will begin at 5:45 p.m. and will be followed by another musical performance at 6:00 p.m. with The Eli Young Band. Music is not the only thing going on at Bicentennial Park - there will be a wide variety of food and arts & crafts booths on site selling tasty treats and handmade creations. There will also be a children's amusement area complete with a fishing tank, wetlands touch tank, a climbing wall, and many other activities to keep the young-ones busy! This year's event will also include the Little Mr. & Miss Firecracker Costume Contest at 7:30 p.m. Bring your little cutie in patriotic attire!.
Remember to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and sunscreen to the celebration, and tons of energy to enjoy all of the activities! We are allowing pop-up tents, shade tarps or umbrellas in the spectator area; however, they must be taken down by 6:00 p.m. There will also be 20 foot x 30 foot tents available in the spectator area to escape the sun. Space under the tents is available on a first come first served basis.
Public parking will be available at the Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Education and Recreation Center, Robert E. Lee High School, Lee College, Goose Creek, and Sterling Library. There are also several other lots located along Texas Avenue.
There will be no street closures on Thursday, July 3rd, however, on Friday, July 4th the following streets will be closed - Market Street from Stadium Drive to Texas Avenue, Lee Drive from Market Street to Gentry, and Gentry Street from Lee Drive to Carnegie - starting at 10:00 a.m. until and 11:00 p.m. after the fireworks show is over.

Chevy's Freedom Over Texas with Fireworks Presented by Shell will celebrate America 's birthday on July 4, 2008 with a live concert from a well known artist, and the nation's largest land-based fireworks extravaganza. The day will also offer a host of family entertainment, four stages with music ranging from country western and rock 'n' roll to Latin, pop and oldies. Festival-goers can enjoy a mini-auto show, see some of Team Chevy's hottest NASCAR's vehicles, or simply spend the afternoon kicking back at the Bud Light Texas Volleyball Championship Court, watching the men's and women's statewide tournament finals before the concert and fireworks begin. Red, Hot & Blue Festival
Woodlands Town Center, The
The Red, Hot & Blue Festival, The Woodland's single largest event, celebrates its 11th year on July 4, 2008. It is held in Waterway Square on
the banks of The Woodlands Waterway.
The 23-minute fireworks show, shot over The Woodlands Town Center, is the second largest in the Greater Houston region, second only to downtown Houston. The soundtrack for The Red, Hot & Blue Festival Fireworks is simulcast on Houston's #1 radio station, Sunny 99.1
Trolleys will be running on July 4 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Water taxis will operate along The Woodlands Waterway on July 3rd from 11 am -10 pm and July 4th between 11am and 11pm. Boats will not
operate during the fireworks display on July 4th (8:45 pm - 10 pm) but will resume operations after the fireworks have completed.
