TS Elida forms off coast of Mexico

MEXICO CITY, Mexico The U.S. National Hurricane Center says Elida has sustained winds of nearly 40 mph (65 kmh), with higher gusts.

On Saturday morning, Elida was located about 220 miles (355 kilometers) south of Puerto Angel, Mexico, and about 370 miles (600 kilometers) southeast of Acapulco. It is traveling northwest about 14 mph (22 kmh), and is expected to stay on this track for the next 36 to 48 hours.
