Sam Houston becomes two schools

HOUSTON The state has approved the district's plan to split the campus into two schools. Sam Houston was closed by the state after six years of poor academic performance, so HISD plans to create two new schools.

One school will be a ninth grade academy with college and career programs, and the other will be a 10th through 12th grade campus math, science and technology center,
