SeaWorld whale dies unexpectedly

SAN ANTONIO, TX SeaWorld spokeswoman Fran Stephenson says Halyn -- a 2½-year-old female -- died Sunday night.

A cause of death has not been determined. Results of an examination will be available in six weeks.

Stephenson says there is wide disparity on estimates for the life expectancy of killer whales, but that Halyn was young.

Taku, a 14-year-old male killer whale at SeaWorld San Antonio, died in October.
