Somber family reunion

HOUSTON Loved ones greeted Jose Maldonado as he arrived at Bush Intercontinental Airport Saturday morning. The Marine was serving in Iraq when he learned his mother, Gloria McInnis, died in an explosion at the southeast Houston plant on Wednesday.

"I loved her so much. In the past few years, with me going off to war several times, we were so close. We talked all the time, at least once a week," said Jose. "And I loved getting her letters and her care packages."

McInnis' family is suing Goodyear for gross negligence. They blame the company both for the explosion and for taking seven hours to realize McInnis had died. She was originally listed as accounted for.
