HOUSTON Police say Thomas Ramirez, 17, offered a classmate $150 and drugs to kill another Sam Rayburn High School student. A meeting was arranged with an undercover officer posing as a hit man. Prosecutors say during that meeting, Ramirez allegedly told the officer he would have another job for him once that assignment was complete.
"I think what we're dealing with, really, is a man-child," said defense attorney Greg Glass. "He's 17 years old, with what appears to be poor life coping skills."
Police say Ramirez wanted a 15-year-old girl killed because he thought she interfered with his relationship with an ex-girlfriend. Ramirez' bond is currently set at $100,000. No decision was made on a reduction.
