HISD working with parents on school solution

HISD is working with parents in developing a new option for Sam Houston High School, which will be shut down. The state ordered the school closed because of low TAKS test scores. Yesterday, the district reviewed several ideas for the campus. One involves turning the school into a ninth-grade academy and a high-tech center for seniors.

HISD officials are meeting with parents to get their thoughts. HISD will take a final recommendation to the school board on Thursday.
