HISD set to vote on buses and bonuses

HOUSTON The school board will review a grant worth nearly $250,000. The money would be used to fit school buses with a filtration system that would reduce emissions. HISD already runs its vehicles on ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel.

The school board will also look at a proposal to increase the maximum amount of cash a teacher can receive in bonuses. The current maximum is $7,800. Board members are considering raising it to $10,000. It will go up for vote on Thursday.
