Thieves target elementary school

June 4, 2008 5:09:41 AM PDT
Police think thieves tried to break into Benbrook Elementary School in northwest Houston overnight. A silent alarm went off around 3:30am. When police arrived on the campus at Bolin and Underhill they found a broken window. One classroom door was open and objects were scattered around the window and door.

Police believe someone was trying to steal electronics and office supplies, but ran away before police arrived. It's not clear if anything was actually taken.
