Bus-truck collision kills 14 in Vietnam

HANOI, Vietnam Officer Le The Thanh says 12 people were killed instantly and two others died later in a hospital after the accident Monday in coastal Binh Thuan province.

Eighteen passengers were seriously injured and have been hospitalized. Several of them are in critical condition, Thanh said.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.

Binh Thuan is 124 miles northeast of Ho Chi Minh City.

Traffic accidents killed more than 13,000 people last year in Vietnam.
