The BLM will focus on 125 applications already submitted as it prepares the environmental impact statement. The Department of Energy will also work on the analysis.
The agencies will establish a process for accepting future applications. They're taking public comments through July 7 and plan public meetings in each of the states, starting June 16 in Riverside, Calif.
