AgCenter hosts biodiesel workshop

BATON ROUGE, LA The AgCenter is hosting a three-day workshop on making biodiesel from used vegetable oil.

Bill Carney, the AgCenter's environmental educator, says the workshop is aimed at small business owners and individuals such as farmers and landscapers, who have small fleets of trucks or tractors.

Carney says there is a lot of interest in biodiesel, as an alternative fuel, and that a goal is to help people understand what works and what doesn't.

The workshop will be held June 3 through 5 at the W.A. Callegari Environmental Center in Baton Rouge. It is free to the public.
