She is the Houston-area winner of Diamonds in the Rough, a program that recognizes kids who have used lessons learned from playing baseball or softball to overcome challenges on or off the field.
The contest is sponsored by Milwaukee-based Briggs & Stratton Corp., which has donated more than 500,000 to youth baseball through the Diamonds on the Rough program.
