"We put them in enclosable bags with cards in them that say that we still care about, we're praying for the soldiers. And we still care about you," said Matthew Lew, who helped organize the flag project.
Wesley Drake, who has close ties to Lew's church, received the flags in Iraq and he distributed them to other soldiers. The flag Drake took for himself happened to be the one his wife's grandfather had actually folded.
