Two killed in high speed wreck

HOUSTON Around 1:45am, a Camry was traveling southbound on Highway 6 near Royal Road when the driver lost control. The car slid into the northbound lanes and collided with an SUV.

The driver and the passenger in the Camry died instantly. The man in the SUV was taken to Hermann Hospital by Life Flight. He's in fair condition.

Harris County Deputy S. Wolverton said, "It looks like the Toyota Camry was driving over the speed limit, based on the damage to the vehicles and the way it slid sideways. This was a high speed crash."

It is unknown at this time if alcohol was a factor.
