Astros, schools set for 'Fielder's Choice'

HOUSTON The 2008 Fielder's Choice schools are Atascocita Middle School (Humble ISD), Truitt Middle School (Cypress-Fairbanks ISD), Kirby Middle School (North Forest ISD) and Poe Elementary (Houston ISD).

This year, area students submitted essays in response to this question: "How does making good choices relate to you having a safe and successful future?" From the students' entries, four schools were selected.

"The Astros' Fielder's Choice program allows us to support the community's future and help make Houston a better place to live by teaching students the importance of making good decisions for their lives," said Mark Brown, Regional Director of Operations for Whataburger Restaurants, which partners with the Astros for the program.

Also, each school will receive 500 tickets to an Astros game, and students will receive a special certificate and coupon from Whataburger. This season is the third year that Whataburger has teamed up with the Astros in the Fielder's Choice Program.
