Former Houston Oilers linebacker Lamar Lathon has posted a $5,000 bond on an assault charge. Lathon surrendered to police Monday and headed to a probable cause hearing. Harris County prosecutors say Lathon was intoxicated when he got into an argument with an ex-girlfriend and slapped her back on April 12 at Sam's Boat on Richmond.

Lathon faces a charge of felony assault-bodily injury of a family member.

Lathon, whose pro career was split between the Oilers and Carolina Panthers, has twice served probation for assault.
