Police say Myron Douglas Phillips was upset that the victims had told police Phillips had sexuality assaulted his stepdaughter. Officers searched for about 12 hours before they located him hiding in a home near Burleson.
"Seemed like he was a nice guy," said Phillips' neighbor Keith Jones. "His wife, she was very talkative and always very nice as well. It's sad something like that had to happen."
Phillips was convicted in 1996 of aggravated armed robbery with a deadly weapon in Houston.
