Witnesses say they heard the plane sputter before it landed in the water nose first about 4pm yesterday. The crash left behind an oil slick and debris on the surface of the water. So far, the bodies of the people on board have not been found.
Early this morning, state troopers released the names of the people killed. They include 54-year-old Daniel McIntire from Humble, George McFadden from New York City and 34-year-old Heather Hardin of Louisiana.
We talked to McIntire's family this morning and they tell us he was piloting the plane at the time of the crash, but no one yet knows what went wrong. The family was expected to meet with the FAA in Sabine County this morning.
