Massive fire rages at Pasadena apt. complex

PASADENA, TX It happened the complex on Richey near Highway 225 yesterday evening. The flames spread quickly through the attic. By the time emergency crews arrived, the building was too dangerous to enter. Residents say there was hardly any time to evacuate.

"The smoke was building up to where we had to evacuate," said resident Tanisha Joseph. "We didn't have time to put on purses and put on shoes. We didn't have any time to do anything."

Fortunately there were no injuries. But some 200 people are without homes. The Red Cross is helping those who were displaced. The cause of the fire is unknown.
