Olson wins GOP nod in District 22

An ex-Senate aide defeated a former city councilwoman in a runoff election for a nominee for former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay's old congressional seat. In the Houston area's Congressional District 22, Republican Pete Olson won. He beat out Republican Shelley Sekula-Gibbs.

Both vied for the chance to run against first-term Democratic Rep. Nick Lampson in what has been a traditionally Republican district.
