The Aeros grabbed the early lead as Gajic scored twice in the first period.. Jon Awe extended the Aeros lead to 3-0 with a power play goal.
Gajic's hat trick was complete shortly after the beginning of the second period. Thirty-one seconds into the period, he scored on a power play goal, making it 4-0. Awe added one more goal in the third period to complete the 5-0 shutout.
With the win, the Aeros advance to the playoffs for the fifth time in seven years. The loss also eliminated Peoria and secured a berth for San Antonio.
