Violent brawl starts over stolen shoes

HOUSTON The brawl started at a southwest Houston apartment on West Bellfort near Fondren after someone got upset over stolen shoes. Police say a bullet grazed a woman, barely missing her ear.

Later, a second fight broke out, involving the same group at a second apartment. Another woman was stabbed three times in the stomach.

Both attack victims are expected to survive their injuries. None of the witnesses would give the identity of the attackers to police.
