They were apparently waiting for someone to come help them with the car when an SUV swerved at the last second and missed the car.
"The pickup that was behind the SUV swerved to the left and was able to avoid the car. Unfortunately, the 25-year-old male putting gas in the car was struck by the truck," said Sgt. S. Wolverton with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Huffman died on the scene of the crash due to his injuries sustained.
Deputies say the driver stopped and no charges are expected.
