'Discover San Jac' will showcase North campus

HOUSTON "Discover San Jac" will be held Friday, April 11, 2008, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at San Jacinto College North, 5800 Uvalde Road. The event will begin at the College's fine arts auditorium, which is located at the intersection of Uvalde and Wallisville Roads.

"We hope this event will be a new annual tradition here at the North campus and we hope high school students will see this event as their gateway to San Jacinto College, where they can invent themselves for their future," commented Thomas Sneed, a College advisor/recruiter who is coordinating the event.

Representatives of student organizations will have displays set up at the College's student center so that high school students can learn about extracurricular activities available on the campus. Parents and student will also be introduced to campus administration, including deans, so that students know whom to contact for valuable information. There will also be display booths with program information.

"We realize some of our programs are a good distance from the main portion of campus, so we want to give our guests as much time for information exchange as possible," concluded Sneed.
