Rosenthal's ex-secretary leaves county

HOUSTON Eyewitness News has learned /*Kerry Stevens*/, Rosenthal's former secretary, has retired.

You may remember Stevens was given a pay cut last week when a new district attorney was brought in. The whole ordeal started back in December when 2,500 emails from /*Rosenthal*/'s county computer were released. Among those were several romantic emails from Rosenthal to Stevens.

Rosenthal resigned a few weeks ago amid pressure about the emails. Governor /*Rick Perry*/ appointed /*Ken Magidson*/ to replace Rosenthal. Magidson reassigned Stevens to another division within the district attorney's office and cut her annual pay. She was also told to give back her county issued car.

Scott Durfee, general counsel for the DA's office, confirmed to Eyewitness News that Stevens never reported for her new assignment last week.

We'll continue to follow this story. As soon as we know more, we'll bring it to you.
