Witness chased robbery suspects for cops

HOUSTON Eyewitnesses say two carloads of young men robbed an Athlete's Foot shoe store in north Houston just before lunch and beat up the clerk. An eyewitness saw the men leave and began following them south along I-45 while on the phone with 911 dispatch.

Officers from multiple jurisdictions gave chase and pulled the suspects over along the North Freeway near Parker. The men all bailed out of the cars, and an eyewitness says one tried to carjack him.

"Then he ran to my car. He tried to get in. He opened my door, then saw the police coming, then he ran across the street and the police jumped on him," recalled witness Carvello O'Brien.

Police arrested two suspects, but the others got away.
