Apartment fire sends 5 to hospital

HOUSTON That fire broke out last night in a downstairs apartment on Watonga near Libbey. That unit was destroyed. Several others sustained a lot of damage.

"When we arrived, (there was) fire from two units and we were able to make an offensive attack and get it out fairly quickly," said District Chief Kevin Carley with the Houston Fire Department.

The five fire victims are being treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns.
