Man accused of burning cat back behind bars

PASADENA, TX Police say Danny Villata, 20, is charged with felony animal cruelty for killing the animal in his Pasadena apartment. The owner was planning to give the pet to her boyfriend's children, but the cat was found dead over the weekend. She told the children that the cat ran away.

"As long as they don't know what happened to the cat, that's what I'm worried about because they really loved that cat," said cat owner Randi Holly. "I mean, it had only been a couple of days, but kids are like that. They get attached to animals pretty easily."

Villata will be back in court in April.
