Man run over by suspects dies

KATY, TX On February 19 at about 9:30pm, employees of the Home Depot saw a white van pull up near the shipping and receiving department. Donald Thomas, 56, went over to offer the men assistance when he saw them trying to steal pallets from the back of the store. As he attempted to stop them, the suspects ran over him.

On Saturday, March 8, at Memorial Hermann Hospital, Thomas died of his injuries.

This case, now enhanced to a homicide, is being actively investigated by the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Department. Detectives are seeking two persons of interest, Saul Chicas, 32, and Julio Ceaser Escolero, 23.

Chicas and Esoclero both work for Quality Pallet Company located in the Mission Bend area of 15718 Boss Gaston Road and it is confirmed that they were more than likely in the van during this crime. The van is described as a white 1996 Isuzu box van with a rear roll-up door and bearing license plate 67F-BT4. Detectives also have information signifying that these two persons of interest were involved in similar incidents at other comparable businesses

Detectives are requesting anyone who has information on the whereabouts of these persons or details surrounding this incident to contact the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office at 281-341-4665 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS (8477). Information which leads to the apprehension and filing of charges on the suspect involved could earn you up to $5,000. In conjunction to the Ft. Bend County Crime Stoppers Reward, The Home Depot is offering up to $50,000 for information that leads to the capture and conviction of the individuals responsible.
