Rutgers (3-4) was trailing 5-3 when it scored five runs in the top of the seventh to take an 8-5 lead. Gossard provided a two-RBI single.
The Aggies (9-3) answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at 8. Kyle Colligan and Caleb Shofner had run-scoring hits.
Reliever Matt Patterson (1-0) gave up no runs on two hits in an inning to earn his first win. He struck out one and walked one.
Kyle Thebeau (1-2) took the loss, giving up two unearned runs on one hit in two innings. Thebeau walked four and struck out one.
Gossard was 1-for-5 with three RBIs for the Scarlet Knights.
Jose Duran batted in three runs for Texas A&M.
