The modifications include simpler vocabulary, fewer answer choices and larger print. Kids in grades third, fifth, eighth and ninth are taking the TAKS.

HOUSTON The TAKS test was moved back a day because of the Texas primary. As many as 100,000 students across the state are taking a tougher, modified version of the test.
