Former TV judge wins congressional primary

DALLAS, TX Larry Joe Doherty defeated international consultant Dan Grant on Tuesday and now heads to a general election matchup with Republican Rep. Mike McCaul. McCaul's district stretches from Austin to Houston, with several rural counties in between.

Doherty is a Houston lawyer who sues other lawyers for malpractice. He starred in the television show "Texas Justice" where he delivered rulings in real cases with a Texas drawl.

McCaul is seeking election to a third term.
