Robbers hit grocery store before closing

Armed robbers got away with a very large amount of cash during a robbery at a grocery store overnight. The heist happened just as managers were closing up at the Food Fair on W. Little York and Bingle in northwest Houston.

Investigators say the men deliberately waited till the store was set to close to pull off the robbery. They say one man walked in and picked up something as if he was about to pay for it.

He was on this phone at the time, and police think he was talking to the two other suspects. As the man walked up to the cash register, two other men rushed in. One grabbed the cashier and the other grabbed the manger.

The armed men then forced the manager at gunpoint to open the store safe, taking more than $16,000 in cash. No one was hurt in the incident.

All the men ran from the store and haven't been seen since.

Police say they have several images of the men who pulled off this heist and will most likely release them later today.
