An official investigation is now underway after allegations of some sort of altercation between Houston police officers and emergency medical technicians at an accident scene. Now officials on both sides are trying to piece together what exactly happened.

Right now not much is being said about what went on, but Houston police tell us they're looking into the incident.

Both the HPD and HFD confirm to us that an investigation is underway over an altercation between a Houston police officer and a fire department EMT.

HPD tells us that it happened along the 9400 block of Hammerly around 3:45 yesterday. An ambulance was called to transport an injured person from a car accident. Sometime before the patient was transported, an altercation took place between the EMT and at least one police officer. Officials would not comment on whether the altercation came to blows, but the patient was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest.

An office of inspector general investigation has been launched.

No one would talk on camera, but HPD released a statement saying, the patient was treated compassionately and professionally, in accordance with policy. The allegation has been referred to the proper authorities for investigation.
