The top five list is not quite what some Houstonians might have guessed.

5. El Dorado / Oates Prairie

Zillow forecasted a 6.5 percent increase in home value growth for this northeast Houston neighborhood just outside of Loop 610.

4. Greater Hobby Area

The Greater Hobby Area which gets its name from Hobby Airport, located at the center of southeast Houston, received a forecasted 6.6 percent increase in home value growth.

3. North Shore
Just like its name suggests, this community is tucked away in the northeast part of Harris County with an expected 7.7 percent increase in home value growth.

2. Park Place
Just outside of the 610 Loop and just inside Beltway 8, this subdivision parked in second place with an expected home growth value of 8.3 percent.

And the number one neighborhood is...

1. Gulfton
This southwest community that sits in between Loop 610 and Beltway 8 landed the top spot with an 8.9 percent projection in home growth value for this year.

While these neighborhoods might not be the first ones to pop into mind when it comes to being the "hottest", they managed to beat out some of Houston's other well-known neighborhoods when it comes to growth.
