Deputies were dispatched to the Belvedere at Springwoods Village apartment complex located in the 2300 block of E. Mossey Oaks Road regarding a shooting.
Upon officials' arrival, a 26-year-old woman, identified as Shantavia Reddick, was discovered with several gunshot wounds.
Another woman at the scene notified deputies that her friend had been shot after arriving at the complex to help someone involved in a domestic dispute.
Investigators quickly identified the suspect as 28-year-old Dimitri Humphrey. Officials said Humphrey shot Reddick and her dog, but not his girlfriend, with whom he was reportedly in a dispute moments before.
According to deputies, Humphrey, who is currently wanted on unrelated charges, fled the scene in a white Jeep Wrangler with the license plate number TFN-4278.
