HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Couples know that weddings can be extremely expensive. But what if we told you that brides can save big on one of the most importance pieces of their special day?

With summer wedding season about to hit in full swing with brides looking for dresses, don't bypass the thrift stores.

"First of all, this is a fabulous couture designer Vera Wang gown. The detail on this is amazing," Jen Meneeley said.

It once retailed for thousands of dollars, but it's only $35 at the Family Thrift Store.

"We also found a beaded gown with a lace train," Meneeley said. "This dress is dynamite. We actually found this at the Family Thrift Outlet for only $2. It is in amazing condition."

Meneeley and Pippa Williams of TooCheapBlondes.com say they see so many beautiful wedding gowns on their shopping trips, it sprouted an idea.

"We always think, we wish we knew somebody who could wear this dress. We would love to put together a wedding, find a bride, find a deserving person," Williams said.

If you have an upcoming wedding and love the idea of getting your dress at the thrift store, the duo wants to assist.

"You need to be a little flexible. We can't find specifics on the dress that you want, but we are finding amazing dresses and we want to find one for you," Williams said.

To be considered, you have to submit your story to the duo. Read the full details on how to enter on Patricia's Facebook page.
