Harris County officials closely watching remnants of Tropical Storm Harvey

Tuesday, August 22, 2017
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Officials with the Harris County Office of Emergency Management are keeping a close eye on the remnants of Tropical Storm Harvey.

The emergency response center is expected to be activated Wednesday and a final decision will be made after a call with state officials and the National Weather Service.

"Our Office of Emergency Management anticipates these," Harris County Judge Ed Emmett said. "We had one several years ago that came in within 48 hours to the coast. The good news is they can't generate a lot of energy, but what we're worried about at this point is the rainfall."
