Inland towns face wind damage, power outages from Harvey

Saturday, August 26, 2017
PORT LAVACA, Texas (KTRK) -- The danger of flying debris and widespread power outages are being felt on inland towns impacted by Hurricane Harvey's landfall.

As the then-Category 4 hurricane made landfall on the coastal city of Rockport, Victoria took on the storm's high winds, blowing at a sustained 130 mph.

Our news team drove through the town early Saturday morning where the damage was already done in the hours after landfall just the previous night. Aside from the wind, the town measured more than 16 inches of rain in just a day.
