HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- One University of Houston art exhibit will have you looking at traffic crashes in a whole new way. Houston Artist Gabriel Martinez has collected thousands of pieces of glass and debris from car accidents and turned them into sculpture.

Martinez walks, drives, and rides his bike around the streets of Midtown, Montrose, and the Museum District collecting debris, and he says anything on the ground is fair game.

Over the past 15 years, Martinez has created works using materials from around the city including bricks and retired street signs.

The exhibit is on display at the University of Houston Blaffer Art Museum until January 27.
