Detectives say the intruder was wearing nothing but his underwear.

It happened around 2 A.M. on Juergen Road off Willowbrook Drive, not far from the Grand Parkway.
"The door is kicked in and that's how the family wakes up to discover the intruder in the residence," said Sgt. Felipe Rivera with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators say this home invasion was random and they have no reason to believe the attacker targeted the family living here.
Naarai Olvera is the adult daughter of the homeowners, Pastor Lorenzo Martinez and his wife, Gloria Martinez. She says her parents moved to this home nearly ten years ago to escape city life. But quiet country life as they know it will never be the same.

"He just started hitting my dad then he hit my mom, then my brother woke up and my brother started hitting him," Olvera said.
She was not there when her parents were attacked. She says her brother, her sister, her sister's husband and their three boys ten years-old and younger, were all inside.

Olvera says the man punched her 55-year-old mother in the face several times, possibly breaking her nose. She says her brother, who knows Jiu Jitsu, tried to fight him off, but the intruder threw the family's 60-inch flat screen TV at him.
"He just kept attacking, he would not stop," Olvera said.
"He wasn't running from anybody. He was attacking. In my opinion, he was in an attacking mode," Rivera said.
The Martinez family and investigators believes the man was on drugs.
Olvera says her brother-in-law shot the man after he broke down the bedroom door, where he, his wife and their children were staying.

"He didn't have an option. He had to shoot him," she said.
The intruder, who investigators have not identified, died in the bedroom.
"We are a Christian family, we don't believe in killing anybody," said Olvera. "But we had to do what we had to do to protect our family and protect our little kids."
Investigators found a Lincoln sedan they believe belonged to the suspect, ditched about a half mile down the road.
